When should I see a doctor about pain? | You Deserve Well

When should I see a doctor about pain?

See a doctor promptly if pain follows an injury, is getting steadily worse, wakes you at night, comes with fever, unexplained weight loss, numbness, or weakness, or if you notice any change in bladder or bowel control. Chest pain or breathlessness needs urgent help.

If your pain has lasted longer than a few weeks and is not improving, it is also worth getting checked, even if none of those apply.

General information, not medical advice. If something feels wrong, or you have a health condition, check with your doctor first.
