Should I see a doctor before I start exercising?

For light to moderate activity, most people do not need to. Check with your doctor first if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure that is not controlled, diabetes, chest pain or dizziness with effort, a joint or bone condition, or if you are unsure.

If you take medication or have a diagnosed condition, ask what to watch for. A good coach will ask these questions before your first session, and will work alongside your doctor, not around them.
