Is hypermobility a problem for training? | You Deserve Well

Is hypermobility a problem for training?

Not on its own. Being flexible is not a problem, but joints that move easily need good muscle control. Strength training is one of the best things hypermobile people can do to feel stable and reduce pain.

Avoid forcing end-range stretches, load gradually and build control in the middle of your range. If you suspect a condition such as hypermobility spectrum disorder or EDS, speak to your doctor.

General information, not medical advice. If something feels wrong, or you have a health condition, check with your doctor first.
