How long does it take to achieve advanced skills like the planche or front lever?
These are long-term skill goals measured in months to a couple of years, not weeks—and that's normal. A first pull-up can come within weeks to a few months; advanced static holds like the planche and front lever require patient, structured progression of tendon and connective-tissue strength that should never be rushed.
Trying to force these too quickly is a leading cause of elbow and shoulder injury. With correct programming and progressions they're achievable for dedicated trainees—and the journey itself makes you remarkably strong.
