Do I need to count calories?
No, but tracking for a few weeks teaches you a lot about portion sizes and where your calories come from. After that, many people maintain results with simple habits: protein at every meal, plenty of vegetables, mindful portions.
If you have a history of disordered eating, counting can be harmful, and a different approach is better. Talk to a professional if tracking makes you anxious.
